Equitable, Accessible, Affordable Education

“Education should unlock opportunity,
not shackle students into a lifetime of debt.” –Mariah

Growing up in Massachusetts public schools, I thrived with reasonable accommodations that empowered me to graduate despite serious health challenges. Every student deserves that same level of care and opportunity to achieve their potential.

Every child deserves a strong public education, regardless of their zip code.
Massachusetts has gold-standard public schools — let's make that the national standard.

To support our teachers and our students, we must:

  • Invest in:

    • Universal childcare

    • Free meals for all children

    • National minimum base-pay for teachers with increases for cost-of-living

    • Title I schools and equitable per-pupil spending, ending reliance on local property taxes

    • Nationwide free community college and adult literacy programs

    • Free state college and university for in-state students and subsidized public school tuitions and fees for all students

  • Reform our Federal Student Loans, creating affordable, common sense repayment plans for past and future borrowers.

    • Forgive all capitalized interest and federally subsidize all loans

    • Credit borrowers for past payments, applying credits to repayment of the original loan

    • Eliminate private servicing of federal student loans, requiring direct service by the Department of Education

    • Expand Public Service Loan Forgiveness to part-time workers, public service & government contractors, and elected officials

  • Fully fund the Department of Education, the Office of Civil Rights, and IDEA for special education

  • Repeal the Educational Choice for Children Act and phase out voucher programs that divert funds from public schools
